Why Is Your Ruqya Cure Being Delayed?

Version: 8th February 2022.

Please read the terms of use at the bottom of the page.

Bismillahi Walhamdulilah wa salatu wa salam ala Rasulilah.

If you have been asking the question why you have you not been cured by Allah via your self ruqya treatment plan then you need to reflect and consider what I am going to say.

First of all, are you following a self ruqya treatment plan that definitely works and that people have been cured by Allah through it? If not, then you need to study and understand the science of ruqya by watching and reading these videos and articles that I put together with the help of Ruqya Support UK and Masjid Al Ghuraba (Luton Islamic Centre):
http://www.practicalselfruqya.com/2016/10/16/practical-self-ruqya-articles-videos/ [1]

After getting a good understanding of the topic you should diagnose yourself and then follow this treatment plan, which cured me and others by the permission of Allah:
http://www.practicalselfruqya.com/2016/10/16/self-treatment-notes/ [2]

WALLAHI! THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT ABOVE TREATMENT PLAN WORKS. IT IS UP TO ALLAH WHEN HE DECIDES TO CURE YOU. SO DON’T BE IMPATIENT OR LOSE HOPE IN ALLAH! ALWAYS THINK POSITIVE OF ALLAH.

The reason I had to swear by Allah is because the shayateen will put doubts in the minds of patients and they will try to convince them that they should do something else without even trying it. YOU ARE TOTALLY FREE TO TRY OTHER TREATMENT PLANS BUT JUST MAKE SURE THEY WORK! IE YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN ENOUGH PROOF THAT THEY WORK.
If you haven’t properly done this above treatment plan I describe or you have not even tried it then HOW CAN YOU SAY IT DOES NOT WORK! I DON’T GET ANY MONEY FROM THIS TREATMENT PLAN and I am not trying to convince you to try it. People have been cured through it so please don’t say anything you are unsure of.
All I want from people is to say the truth and not deceive people and not say that which they don’t know about this self treatment plan. Obviously, there are people who are going to dismiss this self treatment plan but all we have to remember is that if we were sincere in putting this treatment plan together then Allah will put barakah in it and people will try it and then get cured via it by Allah. There is no need to worry about those people who keep speaking ill of this self treatment plan.

A lot of effort, time and research went into developing the self treatment plan so please don’t just dismiss it without trying it. Some of things I learnt from my research into this area and which I did not read in a book or learn from a raqi but actually experienced are:

1. Self Ruqya is better than having a raqi read over you.

2. That intentions are important for ruqya as well as hijama.

3. The main intention for ALL treatment is to ask Allah to cure you so that you can get back to worshipping him properly again without any illness.

4. That the possessing jinn can be killed by the permission of Allah with hijama coupled with ruqya and intentions.

5. That teaching self ruqya to muslims is better than actually reading on them.

6. That surahs falaq and nass are the best means of self ruqya which I actually experienced and literally felt. The hadiths are quite clear on this fact but it hits home harder when you feel it during self ruqya especially when combined with the 7 intentions I describe in the self treatment plan. (For the hadiths on the virtues of these two surahs please see below)

All of the above findings are in my self treatment plan except point 5. There are other things that I learnt but there is no need to mention everything here and all I need to say is that if you are sincerely studying ruqya knowledge for the sake of Allah then he will teach you things that you can’t learn in a book because half of this knowledge is practical and in order to really appreciate and understand it you need to do ruqya on yourself and others.

Another point you need to understand is the problem of jumping from one treatment plan to another because it is detrimental to your treatment since you yourself are causing the delay by stopping and starting a treatment plan and obviously with every change of plan comes the delay of learning how to conduct the new treatment itself so please stick to your treatment plan. You don’t have to do my treatment plan but just make sure whatever plan you do use that it works and is islamically permissible to do.

The same thing happens to those who keep using different raqis so you see them jump from one raqi to the next and they believe the new raqi’s ruqya is basically better than the previous one. If you are going to use a raqi, WHICH I ONLY RECOMMEND IN A FEW INSTANCES, then stick to the same raqi unless you have clear-cut proof that he or she is doing unislamic things. The majority of patients should be able to do their own ruqya without a raqi’s help and my self treatment plan can help you do that.

Remember, you can’t just rely on a raqi’s ruqya treatment, you must be doing your own ruqya as well. Unfortunately, there are people who believe that they don’t have to do any ruqya on themselves and they expect the raqi to do all the work! You should not believe that just ruqya from a raqi is enough because YOU ARE AT WAR WITH JINN and they will use any interruption and delay in the raqi’s ruqya treatment against you. That is because most patients will not be able to afford or have ruqya from a raqi everyday. So you need to understand that the main ruqya needs to come from yourself and NOT THE RAQI!

During your self treatment you will find that some days you’ll feel great but other days you may feel unwell so there will be some ups and downs and this is perfectly normal and should not alarm you. Your body will go through changes as it clears the spiritual ailment from itself so expect diarrhoea, vomiting, headaches, stomach cramps, joint pains, dizziness etc. There is no harm in visiting your doctor and asking for medicines to reduce your symptoms from ruqya treatment because it is islamically acceptable to combine ruqya treatment with modern medicine.

Ruqya treatment is NOT usually a quick fix, like antibiotics. It takes time to get the cure from Allah but if you follow the 3 treatment principles below then the cure will eventually come from Allah.

The three things that you MUST do in order to make your ruqya treatment successful are:

1) KEEPING AWAY FROM SINS (ie not doing major sins or continuously doing the same minor sins)

2) DOING YOUR SELF RUQYA & OTHER TREATMENTS (as described in my self treatment notes)

3) DOING YOUR PROTECTION ADHKAR & OTHER PROTECTIVE ACTIONS (as described in my self treatment notes)

These 3 principles may seem very obvious to some patients but unfortunately for others it is not that clear so I believe that it is important to actually state them even if they seem very obvious to some.

Rarely, do you find a case of jinn possession or other spiritual ailments being cured immediately. We must not become hasty and start complaining that Allah hasn’t answered our ruqya. This attitude of being patient and not complaining is stated in the hadith below:
Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The du’aa’ of any one of you will be answered so long as he is not impatient and says, ‘I made du’aa’ but it was not answered.’” Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim

We must NOT be hasty and think that your self ruqya is a waste of time and energy. On contrary, you are actually getting closer and more beloved to Allah by doing ruqya treatment and that is because it is a Sunnah.

If you do these above 3 things properly and put your trust and hope in Allah then the cure from Allah will come inshallah.

It is very important to mention here that you are ONLY cured when you STOP reacting to ruqya diagnosis. Please don’t rely on anything else.

During your treatment, If you feel better and you think that you may be cured by Allah then it is essential that you do ruqya diagnosis to confirm this. DON’T JUST STOP YOUR TREATMENT BECAUSE YOU FEEL GOOD OR BECAUSE YOUR PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS HAVE REDUCED OR BECAUSE SOMEONE HAS SAID THAT “YOU LOOK CURED”! Please do ruqya diagnosis to confirm your situation ie if you are cured or not.

After doing this self treatment plan for 6 months or more and you find that you are still suffering (ie you are STILL reacting to ruqya diagnosis)  then there can ONLY be 4 REASONS why your cure has been delayed:

1. SINS (To punish you to remove your sins which is a type of mercy from Allah as it will remove or reduce the punishment of the Akhirah (next life).

2. A TEST (To give you more reward from Allah since you are being patient, which results in you being more beloved to Allah ie it raises your status in the next life).

3. MISUNDERSTANDING (You didn’t understand how to treat yourself properly and have incorrectly followed instructions in my self treatment plan). This misunderstanding itself could either be a test or because of sins.

4. NOT ENOUGH TREATMENT (You are not spending enough time doing the self treatment plan). This reason could either be a test itself or it could be because of sins.

Reason 3 should be easily dealt with by studying carefully the material again on self ruqya and you can also email me if you don’t understand anything: abulqasim1972@gmail.com [3]

Reason 4 just needs you to spend more time treating yourself. If you don’t spend time doing ruqya treatment then how can you expect Allah to cure you! There are no quick solutions in general when treating spiritual ailments and so you have to be regular in your application of the self treatment plan.

Reasons 1 and 2 need careful analysis of your life to see which of the 2 apply to you. If you are having trouble with which one applies to you then ask and sincerely beseech Allah to guide you and maybe ask close friends and family for their advice. You may have overlooked some sins that you do or maybe you are oblivious to some sins and so a loving relative or friend maybe able to point you in the right direction. IF YOU ARE STILL IN DOUBT AFTER ALL THAT THEN I RECOMMEND THAT YOU TAKE SINS AS THE REASON FOR THE DELAY IN BEING CURED AND THEN YOU SHOULD ACT ACCORDINGLY.

Let’s now look at these four reasons why the cure could be delayed in detail.

1. SINS

Most of those muslims that have jinn possession are probably sinning muslims and therefore Allah decreed that they become possessed so they can do ruqya and return to following Islam correctly. If Allah did not do this to them then they would never correct themselves and they would end up with a heavy scale of sins. The actual jinn affliction itself and seeking ruqya and making tauba and being patient transforms the sinning muslim into a better person who lives a much more Islamic life than they previously did and they become connected with their lord through this affliction.

Unfortunately, many still see ruqya treatment like taking antibiotics and they desperately want a quick fix. Antibiotics USUALLY work for everyone by the permission of Allah but ruqya only works for the pious Muslims who aren’t doing major sins or who aren’t continously doing the same minor sins! Sadly some people do ruqya on themselves but don’t ever think that their sins could be delaying their cure. Sins make a big difference in our ruqya dua to Allah. If we haven’t done our wajib and kept away from haram then we cannot expect the cure to come.
With regret, some raqis just accept to read on people who are clearly sinning and are far away from Allah and they do not advise about sins. It is as if these raqis are unaware that sins affect ruqya treatment or they are just doing the ruqya to earn money without really helping the patient. These raqis should to give a lot of counselling to these sinning patients and bring them back to Allah before doing any ruqya because doing ruqya on a patient who is clearly sinning may cause the jinn to completely manifest and start speaking and then the patient may end up in a mental health clinic or hospital. The other thing that could happen is that the ruqya has no real affect on the patient because of the patient’s sins and therefore it is a must that some serious counselling is given to the patient. If the raqi is charging then they must fear Allah and do a proper job in advising the patient and not feel guilty that they have only given advice rather than ruqya. This advising the patient can take up a lot time but in the end if the patient’s relationship with Allah is restored then the ruqya will be much more effective.

There are some decent charging raqis who will give you advice and counselling and not just ‘eat’ the patient’s money. Patients have to do research and ask people about these raqis and they shouldn’t just go to the first raqi they find.
When they find a decent raqi they should pray istikharah and then visit him or her.

IT IS NOT HARAM TO GO TO A RAQI! Although, we promote self ruqya it doesn’t mean that we disapprove or condemn all and every raqi’s ruqya. We just want muslims to understand that self ruqya is better and should be the first thing they do before going to a raqi.

The possessing jinn feed and thrive on sins as they make the jinn spiritual strong against you while at the same time they weaken your iman so please avoid sins as best as you can during your treatment. This thriving on sins that the jinn do is so they can take control of the patient and do what they please with the patient and without much resistance from the them. Once the topic of sins is mentioned to these patients who have been ‘feeding’ jinn with their sins, you may see a total rejection of the idea that sins are causing the delay in them being cured and they may argue and deny that their sins are a problem. This happens because the shayateen inside them stir up anger and feelings of pride so that they won’t accept the advice on sins. You actually can sometimes see this anger and pride on their faces. You must politely mention the importance of staying away from sins while doing ruqya and in order to soften their hearts, you must mention some of their good points as well. Over criticising them about sins and speaking to them in a condescending manner can be disastrous and the possessing jinn can take advantage and use that against them. The jinn may make them lose hope in Allah (if you over criticise them about sins) which itself can cause the jinn to take more control over the patient. It is better to do things calmly and mention to them that you yourself are a sinner and that you make tauba on a regular basis and if we did not sin then Allah would destroy us and bring about a new creation that would sin and make tauba. YOU MUST TELL THEM THAT ALLAH LOVES THEM AND WANTS THE BEST FOR THEM AND THAT HE WILL FORGIVE ALL THEIR SINS. It is also important to mention to them that they are part of the best ummah and they can still reach the highest levels of iman if they put in the effort and worship Allah the way he should be worshipped. Once they see that Allah’s mercy is there for them and that they still have time to rectify themselves and that they are worthy of worshipping Allah and that Allah has already honoured them by making them part of the best ummah then the grip of the possessing jinn and their waswaas of anger and pride starts to subside and melt away from their hearts and you will see a different patient. By giving this advice about sins in this manner, the possessing jinn have no choice but to lessen the waswaas of pride and anger because it will be too obvious to the patient especially when this waswaas is pointed out to the patient. Whenever such a waswaas is explained to the patient and they understand it and realise it, you soon find that it disappears from their hearts because the shayateen have been exposed and they want to hide and obviously they do not want it to be known that it was actually waswaas that the patient was feeling and it was not their natural self.

In my opinion, the two sins of not having a beard and not wearing hijab are the ones that delay the cure the most from what I can outwardly see in patients. Obviously, there could be other sins that are hidden and if you have fallen prey to either of these two sins then it is very likely that you are doing other hidden sins that people can’t see. Therefore, it is a must that you look carefully at your life and even get other sincere muslims to help you identify your sins if you are having trouble finding them.
So if you are a male patient then grow a beard and if you are a female patient then wear hijab. Outwardly sinning like this is an indication that the possessing jinn have affected you and that they do have some control over you. The quicker you grow a beard or wear hijab the quicker the cure will come.
Muslim female patients do not usually have a problem with understanding that the hijab is wajib and not wearing it is a major sin and so I usually do not have to tell sisters the evidence for wearing hijab and I never have to debate this issue with them.
However, unfortunately many brothers do not understand the seriousness of shaving their beards continously. IT IS HARAM TO SHAVE YOUR BEARD. In fact, Ibn Hazm narrates an Ijma regarding this issue and when Ibn Hazm narrates an Ijma we need to take heed of it because he was particularly cautious and very thorough in his research as he did not accept any qiyas in his usul ul fiqh and so if he narrates an Ijma then we must take note of it: https://islamqa.info/en/1189 [4]
You should also know that continuously shaving or trimming the beard right down and not letting it grow to a islamically acceptable length is a major sin because you continue to to do that action: https://islamqa.info/en/1169 [5]
If minor sins are repeated over and over again then they will become major sins in of themselves: https://islamqa.info/en/184515 [6]
and they definitely will cause the cure to be delayed so it is important to stop them and not take lightly this issue of continously shaving or excessive trimming your beard.

To illustrate the importance of growing a beard, here is a story I posted in my Ruqya Whatsapp Group:

As salam alaykum.
Yesterday, I did JET on a brother and I was very surprised at the way he had control over his jinn. When i did JET on him 2 weeks ago, several jinn were manifesting and speaking and basically making a lot of noise. After that session, 2 weeks ago, I said to him that he has got to stop sinning in order to prevent these jinn from completely manifesting. I told him to stop shaving his beard as it is sin and walhamdulilah he started growing it. (Shaving the beard is a minor sin but it can become a major sin if it is continually done.)
When I did the JET yesterday, he was in complete control of the JINN and I could easily do the hijama scratches……ALL THAT HAD CHANGED IS THAT HE GREW HIS BEARD….there may have been other sins but that’s all I saw and he not did mentioned anything else. He did say that growing the beard made him feel wonderful and he felt that he had control over his jinn.
Therefore I advise all those who know possessed brothers that shave their beards to tell them not to do that and to grow their beards.

When giving a brother advice about his beard it is essential that you first ask him if he is able to grow a long beard before jumping to conclusions that he is excessively trimming his beard. Many black brothers, including myself, are unable to grow long beards so do not presume that they are trimming their beards. This advice obviously doesn’t apply to the ones that you can clearly see and tell that they are actually shaving.

The common sins that are hidden from public view and which female patients generally fall into are the mistreatment of parents and husbands and having negative thoughts about Allah. For male patients, it is the different forms of zina from looking and watching to touching and actually doing the horid act. This is obviously not a surprise because of the hadith of the fitna of women. If possessing jinn can’t make the men do the actual zina then they will make them do the lesser form which is masturbation. Sadly, some female patients have even fallen into this last one as well. It seems that the possessing jinn confuse patients and convince them that this act is permissible because there is a difference of opinion regarding it but they need to know that the stronger opinion is that it is haram with evidence from the Quran (23: 5 – 7) (https://islamqa.info/en/329 [7]). Those who say it is permissible use a qiyas but the qiyas should not be used when clear quranic evidence is presented or available. Also difference of opinion is not an evidence in of itself so it is better to keep far away from doubtful matters.

One treatment that will definitely help to deal with very addictive sins that are to do with desires is the modified JET treatment that removes waswaas conditioning that I describe in my article ‘How Allah Cured Me’. Removing this waswaas conditioning around the heart area makes a big difference in your ability to fight off evil desires and if you do your morning and evening adhkar after the treatment then you should not get reconditioned. I strongly recommend this treatment to those who are having zina problems, masturbation issues, porn & music addicts, smokers and those who are involved in drug and substance abuse. This treatment is also useful to those who have particular sins that were initially generated by the possessing jinn such as disobeying parents or mistreatment of spouses. Such sins are sometimes very difficult to stop because the possessing jinn have conditioned the patient so they find it difficult to resist the waswaas but once the treatment is administered the patient gets a stronger ability to stop the sin. Having said this, we must still remember that Allah does not burden us with something that we cannot do or stop so the man who has sihr to commit zina cannot claim that he was forced to do zina because of the possessing jinn. The only time such a person will be excused is when the jinn completely manifests and takes control since the ruling of a madman would apply.

IF YOU ARE IN A POSITION TO ADVISE PATIENTS THEN PLEASE FIRST FOCUS ON THE SINS I MENTION ABOVE and once you are sure that they are not being done then you can think about other sins.

When you are trying to search for sins that you have and are still committing then it is essential that you look at those sins that are to do with heart and then those that are to with the tongue and then finally those that are to do with the limbs. You must know that the sins that can be the most difficult to find are the ones in the heart such as having a negative thought about Allah ie “Allah will NEVER cure me, Allah doesn’t care about me, Allah doesn’t love me, Allah hates me, Allah is unjust to me, Allah doesn’t want any good for me, Allah harmed me with a spiritual illness for no reason…..etc.” If you clearly know that the negative thoughts about Allah are coming from yourself and you actually agree with them and that they don’t cause you any problems and you believe them to be true……THEN YOU NEED TO SERIOUSLY LOOK AT YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH ALLAH AND MAKE TAUBA IMMEDIATELY! BECAUSE ALLAH IS ALL GOOD AND NOTHING NEGATIVE CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO HIM! All evil is from ourselves and the devils so please make sure that you ALWAYS THINK POSITIVE OF ALLAH.

The possessing jinn love and enjoy throwing evil THOUGHTS and FEELINGS about Allah into your mind and heart. You will not be held accountable for these thoughts or feelings because they are not from you but the jinn. Nevertheless, you must actively ignore them and not pay any attention to them and you must certainly not start to agree with such evil thoughts and feelings about Allah.

ADVISING THE SINNING PATIENT TO MAKE TAUBA & PAY SADAQAH

The first thing a sinning patient must do is to stop sinning and then make a sincere tauba to Allah with all its conditions. https://islamqa.info/en/14289 [9]

The second thing they should do is to pay sadaqah because sadaqah removes sins and it is a good deed itself which also wipes out sins. https://islamqa.info/en/146238 [10]

The patient should continue paying sadaqah because the sadaqah will continue to remove inevitably sins from the patient. We will all sin, including myself, and therefore sadaqah is a way of removing sins that we are bound to commit.

Those patients who are committing sins by mistreating their spouse or parents should do the following:

1. Make tauba to Allah for this sin and all your sins combined that you have done ie don’t limit the tauba to just the sin you have just done against your spouse or parents.

2. Pay sadaqa with the intention of asking Allah to remove your sins and to seek the cure from Allah.

3. Make dua for your spouse and parents, asking Allah to bless them and to forgive their sins and to make life easy for them and to make them patient with your spiritual illness.

4. Say SORRY to your spouse or parents WITHOUT DELAY even if they show reluctance to accept it from you. Your job is to say sorry and to leave the rest to Allah. You are proving to Allah that you are trying to change your ways.

5. Do a good deed for your parents or spouse…..give them a kiss and smile at them, massage the head or feet or make them a cup of tea, etc or whatever action that will make them happy.

2. TEST

If you cannot find any major sins that you are doing or you are not continously doing the same minor sins……THEN YOU ARE BEING TESTED BY ALLAH SO BE PATIENT BECAUSE THE CURE WILL SURELY COME! It is just that Allah loves you much more than the average muslim and he wants to reward you more than them.
It might be that Allah wants you learn self ruqya so you can teach muslims it and take them away from depending on raqis and prevent them from falling into shirk with raqis.
You may end up like myself and become happy with the actual affliction because you realise what reward you can earn from it by helping muslims. I am so delighted that I actually got afflicted with the 4 spiritual ailments walhamdulilah because I learnt how to treat and diagnose them by permission of Allah and then I went onto teach people about that. There is a lot of reward in teaching muslims about Islam and in particular those aspects that are to do with Tawheed, and definitely teaching self ruqya is a part of Tawheed. Also through these spiritual ailments I was able to learn the games and tricks of the possessing jinn and those tricks and games are exactly the same ones as the qareen uses on me now but of a lesser strength and which I can now counteract because of what I have learnt from my jinn possession. So being possessed has enabled me to protect myself against the deception of the qareen which I was totally oblivious to in the past and prior to my jinn possession and I think that is THE BEST THING I HAVE LEARNT FROM MY JINN AFFLICTION ie being able to deal with my qareen. Therefore, you may not believe it now but there may come a time when you will be delighted with the fact that you actually had a spiritual ailment because of what you learnt from it.

Those patients who are eagerly studying ruqya sciences and they put a lot of effort into it and at the same time they are treating themselves then it is important to know that Allah may delay the cure for you so that you learn more about this science because THE BEST RAQIS I HAVE SEEN ARE THOSE WHO WERE AFFLICTED THEMSELVES! Therefore make use of your affliction and record your experiences and try different types of treatments and procedures that I discuss in my videos and articles. DON’T JUST RESTRICT YOURSELF TO MY WORK BUT LOOK AT WHAT OTHERS HAVE DONE ON RUQYA AS WELL. If you combine all that ilm together and understand it well then indeed you would have understood a great deal!

Once you know that you are being tested by Allah then it is important to be patient and not allow the shaytan to make you think that Allah hates you. You should STOP yourself from getting extremely depressed about your affliction and not fall for the traps of the devil, who would love you to turn against Allah. Try to appreciate the affliction that Allah has given you by remembering the reward that you will get from being patient and also think and contemplate on the fact that you have a special gift and a special relationship with Allah in that when you do ruqya diagnosis or even treatment, you can actually experience the answering of your dua as ruqya (ie feel the ruqya reactions) which you don’t get for normal dua. This is probably the only thing I miss about doing ruqya (ie I miss the fact that I knew that Allah was answering my dua and I could actually feel it as well). Yes, walhamdulilah, normal dua is sometimes answered straight away by Allah and you can see the result in front of you but it is ONLY in ruqya where you continuously see the results of your dua and feel it! So think about the fact that this will go one day when you are cured and you will no longer have this special relationship with Allah. This should hopefully make it easier for you to deal with your spiritual diseases as a test.

3. MISUNDERSTANDING THE SELF TREATMENT PLAN

Several things come under this heading:

A. One of the problems is misunderstanding the importance of intentions during ruqya treatment which can manifests itself as not using the main intention with the other 7 intentions when doing your self ruqya that I explain in this article: http://www.practicalselfruqya.com/2016/10/16/why-are-you-doing-self-ruqya-2/ [11]
Intentions are big deal! They make a significant difference especially when you use them with just surah falaq and nass. This main intention of asking Allah to cure you so you can worship him properly again IS THE KEY TO YOUR CURE. If you have ignored this or have belittled the importance of this intention then this could be reason why your cure has been delayed.
With the other 7 intentions, you need to understand each point carefully and if you haven’t then this could also be a reason why your cure has been delayed. If the main intention and the other 7 intentions are used properly then you won’t have a problem of ayn blocking sihr treatment or the sihr network blocking sihr treatment or the hasd network blocking ayn treatment.

B. Misunderstanding the significance of surah falaq and nass is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. The real sunnah is to just use surahs falaq and nass and NOTHING ELSE! (Mishkat Al-Masabih: 4563: Sahih by Al-Albani) The Nabi salulahu alayhi wasalam never used other than these two surahs when doing self ruqya upon himself. If you ignore these two then that could be the reason why your cure is delayed. These two surahs are the official Quranic legislated cures for sihr and other illnesses via self ruqya because they were sent down to cure the Nabi salulahu alayhi wasalam from sihr. Your lord sent them down to cure his Nabi salulahu alayhi wasalam and they will certainly cure you if you use them. If they are good enough for our Nabi salulahu alayhi wasalam then they are good for us!  So how can you ignore or belittle them!
I remember being told to stop using them and just focus on surah baqarah and other surahs because using them alone was the reason my cure was delayed. (In reality, my cure was delayed because I was being tested and I just needed to continue with surah falaq and nass and be patient with the treatment and situation). Sadly, I succumbed to people’s advice and I left them for a while but then walhamdulilah Allah guided me back to using them again and I would resist calls to use other surahs with some of the evidence which is mentioned below and which is taken from Tafseer Ibn Kathir:

The Virtues of Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas

In his Sahih, Muslim recorded on the authority of `Uqbah bin `Amir that the Messenger of Allah said,

«أَلَمْ تَرَ آيَاتٍ أُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةَ لَمْ يُرَ مِثْلُهُنَّ قَطُّ:

“Do you not see that there have been Ayat revealed to me tonight the like of which has not been seen before (They are)”

﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ﴾»

(Say: “I seek refuge with, the Lord of Al-Falaq.”)(113:1) and;

﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ﴾

(Say: “I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind.”) (114:1)) This Hadith was recorded by Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasa’i. At-Tirmidhi said, “Hasan Sahih.”

Another Narration

«إِنَّ النَّاسَ لَمْ يَتَعَوَّذُوا بِمِثْلِ هَذَيْنِ:

“Verily, the people do not seek protection with anything like these two”:

﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ﴾

(Say: “I seek refuge with the Lord of Al-Falaq.”)(113:1) and;

﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ﴾»

(Say: “I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of mankind.”)) (114:1)

An-Nasa’i recorded that `Uqbah bin `Amir said, “I was walking with the Messenger of Allah when he said,

«يَا عُقْبَةُ قُلْ»

“O `Uqbah! Say!” I replied, “What should I say” So he was silent and did not respond to me. Then he said,

«قُلْ»

“Say!” I replied, `What should I say, O Messenger of Allah’ He said,

«﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ﴾»

“Say: “I seek refuge with the Lord of Al-Falaq.” So, I recited it until I reached its end. Then he said,

«قُلْ»

“Say!” I replied, `What should I say O Messenger of Allah’ He said,

«﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ﴾»

“Say: “I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind.” So, I recited it until I reached its end. Then the Messenger of Allah said,

«مَا سَأَلَ سَائِلٌ بِمِثْلِهَا، وَلَا اسْتَعَاذَ مُسْتَعِيذٌ بِمِثْلِهَا»

“No person beseeches with anything like these, and no person seeks refuge with anything like these.”

Another Hadith

An-Nasa’i recorded that Ibn `Abis Al-Juhani said that the Prophet said to him,

«يَا ابْنَ عَابِسٍ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ أَوْ أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِأَفْضَلِ مَا يَتَعَوَّذُ بِهِ الْمُتَعَوِّذُونَ؟»

(O Ibn `Abis! Shall I guide you to — or inform you — of the best thing that those who seek protection use for protection) He replied, “Of course, O Messenger of Allah!” The Prophet said,

«﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ﴾

﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ﴾

هَاتَانِ السُّورَتَانِ»

(Say: “I seek refuge with the Lord of Al-Falaq.”) and (Say: “I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind.”) These two Surahs (are the best protection).)

Imam Malik recorded from `A’ishah that whenever the Messenger of Allah was suffering from an ailment, he would recite the Mu`awwidhatayn over himself and blow (over himself). Then if his pain became severe, `A’ishah said that she would recite the Mu`awwidhatayn over him and take his hand and wipe it over himself seeking the blessing of those Surahs.

Al-Bukhari, Abu Dawud, An-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah all recorded this Hadith.

It has been reported from Abu Sa`id that the Messenger of Allah used to seek protection against the evil eyes of the Jinns and mankind. But when the Mu`awwidhatayn were revealed, he used them and abandoned all else besides them.

At-Tirmidhi, An-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah recorded this. At-Tirmidhi said, “This Hadith is Hasan Sahih”. (A version of this final hadith is also recorded in Mishkat Al-Masabih: 4563: Graded Sahih by Al-Albani)

AFTER READING ALL OF THAT THEN WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO USE OTHER THAN THEM FOR SELF RUQYA!
From the deception that I have seen some patients fall into is that they completely ignore these two surahs or they only use them minimally. This is because the possessing jinn know that the real sunnah is to just surah falaq and nass for self ruqya and the possessing jinn actually know that they are harder on them and more effective so they try and distract the patients with other surahs such as baqarah. It is NOT haram to use baqarah for self ruqya but why don’t you use something better than baqarah, namely surah falaq and nass. They are better than baqarah for self ruqya from the clear hadith evidence and they are better than baqarah from actual experience. SO PLEASE USE THEM! Neglecting them or not using them enough during self ruqya could be the real reason why your cure is being delayed by Allah!

C. Not understanding the importance of JET hijama treatment or the modified JET treatment that I describe in my article ‘How Allah Cured Me’ could be another reason why your cure is being delayed.
You can read the JET article here: http://www.practicalselfruqya.com/2016/10/16/jinn-extraction-technique/ [12]

You can read about the modified version of the JET treatment in this article: http://www.practicalselfruqya.com/2016/10/16/how-allah-cured-me/ [13]

I got cured through using hijama and ruqya at the same time and I strongly recommend people do this treatment straight away and not to delay doing these treatments. You should carefully read these 2 articles and understand what you need to do. You will obviously have to understand specific ruqya to really appreciate the significance of what I say in them. Hijama combined with ruqya is a powerful tool that can cure you from all 4 spiritual ailments. You may have to do the said hijama treatments several times but that shouldn’t dishearten you.

While following the self treatment plan and doing your normal ruqya with surah falaq and nass with the 7 intentions, you should regularly check yourself for disabled jinn, static sihr, static ayn and static waswaas conditioning. If you do find any of them then you should remove them as I explain in the above article ‘How Allah Cured Me.’

The misunderstanding that this JET is not important could lead you to the next stage which is not to actually get the treatment done on a monthly basis. It is also important to do your own JET treatment as well and not wait for a hijamist. In such self JET cases, instead of applying the hijama cup on the kahil point, you would place the cup on the lower part of your breastbone.

D. Misunderstanding and believing a raqi has the cure or over reliance on a raqi when you really don’t need to go to one may be the reason your cure is being delayed. Some Muslims will need the assistance of a raqi but the majority should be able to do self ruqya.
It might be that Allah wants you to call out to him and beg him for the cure via self ruqya rather than going to a raqi. I have seen very pious Muslims who think that they need a raqi because that was the advice they were given but when they are actually told that self ruqya is better, they get surprised and start doing self ruqya and then Allah cures them through that.

Unfortunately, some patients think too low of themselves when in reality they might be more beloved to Allah than the actual raqi they are thinking of visiting! If that is your case and you visit that raqi then your cure might be delayed because Allah wants better for you. You have misunderstood the fact that you do not really need a raqi and Allah wants you to seek your cure through self ruqya because of your strong iman. So before going to a raqi ask yourself the question: Do you really need one?

Did you know that you could fall into shirk with a raqi? If you believe the raqi is one who is actually doing the curing then you would have committed shirk! THEREFORE IT IS ESSENTIAL BEFORE VISITING A RAQI THAT YOU EDUCATE YOURSELF IN TAWHEED AND SHIRK.
If you feel or see that you are giving too much admiration to a raqi or you are in awe of him then it might be better to avoid him least you fall into shirk. The devils are experts in making people fall into shirk with these sorts of things so please be very careful. One of the signs that you may have fallen into shirk with a raqi is when your heart is desperately yearning and calling out for a raqi and the raqi cannot give you a new appointment and so you constantly call and cry to him asking for an appointment and you know in yourself that you have NEVER done any similar calling or crying to Allah to cure you! If that is your situation then it is essential that you RE-EDUCATE YOURSELF IN TAWHEED BEFORE YOU VISIT THE RAQI AGAIN or avoid raqis and just do self ruqya as this is more pleasing to Allah but if a friend or relative offer to do ruqya on you then you should accept it as the Nabi salulahu alayhi wasalam accepted ruqya from Jibril alayhi salam.

4. NOT ENOUGH TREATMENT

You have to really make a serious effort to treat yourself and not take it lightly. You need to spend more time doing self ruqya. The shayateen will obviously make you busy doing other things but you have to organise your time and get down to doing ruqya.

If you are possessed with jinn then obviously the treatment plan is going to severely effect and injure the jinn and they could die at anytime during your treatment especially during the JET treatment. Do you think they are just going to sit back and let you kill them by the permission of Allah? Definitely not and they will constantly fight and give you problems. They are going to use all possible means to get back at you and they see you as ENEMY NUMBER ONE because you are literally trying to physically kill them via the self treatment plan. So they are going to do their best to also get you back and they will try to kill you if they get the chance. All you need to do is put your trust in Allah and do your treatment and not worry about what the jinn can do to you. If you have done your adhkar and have put your trust in Allah then he will definitely protect you against the devils and they will never harm because I have never heard of a possessed muslim being killed by jinn ONCE THEY START RUQYA TREATMENT!

Another issue that makes patients stop treatment or reduce the time doing treatment is the issue of feeling guilty that they are killing jinn. You should not worry that you yourself are killing jinn because you aren’t. We ask Allah to kill the jinn and then we leave it for him to decide. So don’t get deceived by the devils and start thinking that you yourself are responsible for killing jinn. You are not! It is just like during sihr ruqya treatment, you are not the cause of the sihr cure but it is Allah who is the cause. Likewise, when we do ruqya to burn the jinn to death then it is not us who does the burning but rather it is Allah who does the burning and this also applies to the JET process. We can make all the intentions for Allah to kill jinn and we can do all the asking of Allah to kill jinn BUT IN THE END IT IS ALLAH WHO DECIDES AND NOT US. So please don’t concern yourself with what exactly Allah has planned for your particularly possessing jinn. He may decide to let them escape your body or he may decide that they burn to death and dissolve via ruqya in your body or he may cause their death via the JET treatment SO IGNORE THIS GUILTY FEELING OF KILLING JINN AND DO YOUR TREATMENT. This feeling is obviously coming from the possessing jinn and if you are not careful you may end up totally stopping ruqya or even worse than that you may end up doing shirk by believing that you yourself are ultimately responsible for the killing of the jinn when in reality you are not.

Another group of patients, who have been deceived by the devils and who do not do enough treatment are those who just keep talking about their affliction and its symptoms but hardly do anything about it. They just go round and round in circles saying the same old things about their problems again and again and complaining and wanting sympathy from every muslim who they meet and when they are told to do more ruqya treatment they just don’t seem to understand this simple straight forward piece of advice. It is like talking to a brick wall! It seems that they can’t fathom or appreciate the fact that MORE ruqya will really and actually solve all of their problems…..may Allah guide them and us.

This devil deception is also applicable to the case of those muslims who keep talking about ruqya and jinn possession and different types of treatments and the number raqis they have met and the effectiveness of certain methods compared to others but you hardly find them implementing any of this knowledge on themselves and you also don’t find them doing much self ruqya treatment on themselves and what a sad and unfortunate situation that is to be in! I pray Allah guides them and us. From looking at them, It seems that the devils have confused them with a feeling of having done ruqya on themselves while in reality they have only talked about it. They seem to get a ‘buzz’ from discussing cases and come ‘alive’ while talking but then in the end, when you ask them have they done any self ruqya since the last conversation on the topic, they will say no! In my view, all this talking seems to be perceived and mentally registered by them as having actually done ruqya on themselves. This has to be one of the worst deceptions of the devils that I have seen in patients.

Another group of muslims will just sit at home and just get depressed and feel sorry for themselves and actually wallow and take some sort of ‘enjoyment’ out of being sad about their illness. They will not do much treatment because they want a quick solution to their problem. Telling them that the cure via self ruqya might take 6 months to a year or so is a disaster. They are so depressed that just the thought of self treatment and the likelihood that it won’t immediately get rid of their problem straight away is enough for them to not want to do any self ruqya. All of this is a deception from the devils. Again, a very sad state of affairs.

To all these groups of muslims that are not spending enough time doing treatment then I say to you that you should look at what you have to actually do in order to treat yourself with the self ruqya treatment plan and only then will you realise that there is no real excuse not to do it. All you have to do is 1 hour of ruqya a day and that is: 20 minutes in the morning, 20 minutes in the afternoon and 20 minutes in the evening. Then three times a week, you should wash yourself in a bath tub with the ruqya soup which should not take too long and then you should take honey and black seeds every morning and on a monthly basis you should get the JET treatment and senna done. Surely, no one can really say that the plan is too difficult to follow and that they don’t have time to implement it. If you do struggle to do it then you need to ask yourself a question: Is it because of my sins that I am having trouble doing this self treatment plan?……and only YOU, the patient, can really answer this question.

A NON-MUSLIM OR FASIQ MUSLIM GETTING THEIR RUQYA CURE BEFORE PIOUS MUSLIMS

Those pious Muslims who are possessed or have other spiritual ailments should NOT get disheartened or sad when they see a non- Muslim or fasiq Muslim being cured via ruqya before themselves. They shouldn’t doubt or think that they are doing something wrong or think that they need to change their ruqya treatment.

The non-muslim may get cured via ruqya because:

1. They are being rewarded by Allah because of some ‘good’ (especially towards Muslims) that they did in this dunya because there is NO reward for them in the akhirah.

2. It might be a means for them to embrace Islam ie when they see the power of the Quran as ruqya they become Muslim.

3. It might be a punishment for them to distance them from Allah and to keep them far away from Allah so once they are cured they turn away and no longer think about Allah or death or the afterlife. This is similar to when one of them receives a huge amount of money and then they forget about Allah or investigating ‘the meaning of life or their sins’ and then they die in that sorry state and enter Hell forever, never coming out.

Only number 3 above, will apply to the fasiq Muslim but obviously they will NOT enter Hell forever ie that their cure is a punishment to turn them away from Allah and therefore, they will just carry on doing sins because they don’t recognize it as a punishment and they cannot see any ill effects of their sins and so it is imperative for other Muslims to remind fasiq Muslims of this and to tell them to still make tauba since they may feel that they don’t need to make tauba because they are cured and life is fine for them!

The evidence that a cure or something good or pleasant can be a punishment is:

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: “If you notice that Allah is providing the goods of this world to a person despite the fact that he is sinful, then this is inciting him to commit sins until Allah takes the person (upon his committing sins). Then the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) recited: “ So, when they forgot (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened to them the gates of every (pleasant) thing, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We took them to punishment, and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows.”(Al-An’am 6:44).” (Reported by Ahmed and Al-Tabrani, and Al-Albani graded it as authentic.)

These fasiq Muslims need to be warned and taught this above principle, which also applies to physical diseases like cancer. So if we see an evil-living fasiq Muslim being cured of cancer, we need to still tell them to fear Allah and to make tauba as this cure which they received from Allah is a punishment…..”HOW CAN THIS BE A REWARD FOR DOING SINS. IMPOSSIBLE!!!

Therefore, looking at the above, the pious Muslims just need to continue with their ruqya treatment and not get deceived by their shaytan or possessing jinn and think that sins and being a fasiq Muslim is beneficial to their ruqya treatment. This may sound obvious to many patients but a few get affected by this doubt and therefore it is important to clarify this. We must always remember that Allah can test us and punish us in a variety of ways.

CONCLUSION

We briefly looked at and mentioned 4 reasons why the cure could be delayed by Allah.

It is important to know which reason applies to you and then act accordingly so if you are sinning then obviously stop sinning and if it is a test then you need to carry on with your treatment and be patient with what Allah has decreed for you because your cure will come inshallah. If your cure is delayed because of a misunderstanding then it is imperative that you study and remove the misunderstanding. If your cure is delayed because of not spending enough time doing the self treatment plan then you need to rearrange your timetable so that you can treat yourself adequately.

Your situation can actually be a combination of reasons so if you are a sinner then obviously you have reason 1 and then you might also have reasons 3 and 4 as well because sins can affect you understanding and memorising Islamic knowledge and sins can also weaken you against the devils so that the devils can divert and prevent you from spending enough time doing treatment. If you are pious then you will obviously have reason 2 then you might also have reasons 3 and 4. It might be that Allah causes you to misunderstand something like the significance of surahs falaq and nass and so you initially just concentrate on using surah baqrah for self ruqya but then you realise the importance of surahs falaq and nass from hadiths and then you start using them for self ruqya and then from your actual experience of using them, you make a better comparison with surah baqrah and then can say that from the hadiths and from real experience that surahs falaq and nass are much better for self ruqya than surah baqrah. This understanding from experience could only really happen because Allah decreed that you misunderstood and didn’t appreciate the significance of surahs falaq and nass in beginning. It might be that Allah causes you to be busy with other Islamic obligations such as taking care of your family or parents or helping Muslims in need that you find it difficult to have enough time to do a lot of self ruqya or to get an hijama appointment for the JET treatment. The wisdom behind this could be to teach you the importance of time management and to appreciate the blessing of time. This reason of not having enough time for self ruqya will obviously give you more reward from Allah because of your suffering.

If you do follow the self treatment plan I describe then your cure from Allah will DEFINITELY come because ruqya and hijama are known cures for spiritual ailments but you have to firmly believe that and not doubt it! In fact, if you doubt it and start thinking and believing that Allah won’t cure you then Allah won’t cure you because you believed that he won’t. Remember, Allah treats you the way you think of him as is mentioned in the well known hadith. Thinking ill or negative of Allah is a sin and it may be that you never get cured because of it.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU LOOK INTO THE 4 MAIN REASONS WHY THE CURE IS DELAYED CAREFULLY AND THEN ACT ACCORDINGLY…..AND TRULY AND SINCERELY BELIEVE THAT ALLAH WILL CURE YOU. This is ALL about thinking well of Allah and knowing that the success and cure is with Allah alone!
